Robert "Bob" Bregler

Robert “Bob” Bregler was born in 1951 in Lakeland Florida to Francis (Frank) and Elizabeth Bregler. His father was a grocer and his mother was a housewife.

Bob is the oldest of 5 children – 3 girls and 2 boys. He grew up on Ariana St. in Lakeland & attended Dixieland Elementary, Southwest Junior High, Lakeland High School, Polk Junior College and the University of South Florida. He graduated USF in 1977 with an accounting degree.

He married Brenda Merkel in 1971. Bob & Brenda have four great children—2 daughters and 2 sons. All 4 children are married and have children of their own. He currently has 7 grandchildren with one on the way.

Bob is employed as Executive Vice President of Publix Employees Federal Credit Union. He enjoys family, old movies, football, golf and all kinds of racing. Bob has Christian beliefs and is a staunch conservative.

Bob is a long time member of Lakeland South Rotary Club (since 1989). He has served in many capacities, including club Secretary and President. He is a Paul Harris Fellow as is his wife and mother. Bob enjoys the public and civic service mission of Rotary and is a strong believer in providing service to others.
