
Emilio (Emil) Montero was born February 15th, 1961 in
Willmar, Minnesota to Dr. Emilio Montero and Ada Maria
Montero. After 18 months in the frigid cold, the Cuban
family with little Emilio in tow moved south to a warmer
climate, specifically Petersburg, Virginia. Emilio and
family then moved to Lakeland in 1972.
Emilio graduated from The University of Florida in 1983 with
a BA in Political science and was accepted into Emory Law
School. After a brief stint at Emory, Emilio decided to
forgo the attainment of his Doctor of Jurisprudence and
decided on becoming an entrepreneur.
Currently Emilio is President of Residual Networks, LLC, a
telecommunications consulting business specializing in
delivering streamlined voice and data services nationwide.
Emilio is also a partner in Smartgrown, a distribution
company specializing in the sales and marketing of eco
friendly micronutrients geared to the promotion of
sustainable agriculture. Emilio has two daughters, Jordan
and Emily and spends most of his time thinking of ways to
make sure they are prepared for their life journey.
Emilio enjoys all outdoor activities and is an avid
fisherman and dreamer. In his own words he tries to “spread
a little sunshine every day.”
