
Ron O’Connor is a native Floridian born in Tampa and a graduate of the University of Florida.
He began his Farm Credit of Central Florida career in 1987
as Marketing Manager and was named 1997 National Farm Credit
Marketer of the Year. During his tenure, the association’s
marketing and advertising programs have earned four crystal
biostar awards, symbolizing the Farm Credit System’s
outstanding program in that category, as well as numerous
runners-up awards. In 2003, he was selected as the Florida
Nursery, Growers, & Landscape Association’s Allied Member of
the Year.
He also chairs the statewide marketing committee which
combines the resources of all three Florida associations to
achieve maximum exposure for Farm Credit at Florida’s
premier agricultural events. His duties at Farm Credit of
Central Florida include coordinating advertising and
marketing programs to enhance awareness of the Farm Credit
Advantage. Additionally, he tracks legislative and
regulatory issues affecting the association and communicates
with the appropriate organizations and individuals on behalf
of the association as directed by the Directors and
President.
He is a Lakeland South Rotary member since 1980 and is a past President.
Hi is past President of the Florida Agriculture Institute
and Polk County Gator Club, past Vice President of the
Florida Citrus Showcase, a member of the Florida Citrus
Mutual, Florida Cattlemen’s Association’s, and FNGLA’s
allied committees, a board member of the Florida Ag Hall of
Fame and the Florida Council of Cooperatives, and was
awarded an Honorary FFA membership.
He and his wife, Andrea, have been married since 2005 and he has two children, Michael, and Brittany, a step daughter, Jillian, and one grandson, Michael Robert.
