John Schliesser

Lakeland Regional Medical Center

John is a retired Lakeland Regional Medical Center senior executive.  He served as  Vice President of Planning and External Relations from 1990 to 2011. His duties included strategic planning, marketing, communications, public relations, physician relations, business and industry relations, and patient satisfaction. He came to LRMC after serving in the corporate office of Hospital Corporation of America in Nashville as Director of Business Development.

He received a Master of Science degree in Health Administration and Planning from the University of Cincinnati. Completed 3 of 4 years of a Master of Divinity program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Bachelor of Arts, Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne.

Current Memberships, Activities

Board Member of Polk Health Alliance, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Cancer Society, and Lakeland Vision. Active in Lakeland South Rotary, Leadership Lakeland Alumni, Leadership Lakeland Health Care Day, and Polk Vision. Graduate of Leadership Lakeland X. John is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
